The Men\'s 100 metre sprint event at the 2008 Olympic Games will take place on 15th and 16th August at the Beijing Olympic Stadium.

NOCs may enter up to 3 entrants providing they have met the A standard (10.21) in the qualifying period (1 January 2007 to 23 July 2008). NOCs may enter 1 athlete providing they have met the B standard (10.28) in the same qualifying period.IAAF - http://www.iaaf.org/OLY08/standards/index.html

Most nations will hold olympic trials during 2008 to select athletes for the olympic athletics events. The United States trials for athletic events will take place at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, from June 27 to July 6 2008.
